Welcome back to Pet sacular, the go-to channel for all things pet-related. Today, we’re diving into the I.C.E. Ultralite Horse & Rider ID in Lime, a safety essential designed to provide critical information in emergency situations.
The UltraLite ID is a lightweight and durable identification tag that attaches to your horse’s mane braid. With its aluminum carabiner, it weighs less than three-quarters of an ounce, making it virtually unnoticeable for your horse. It comes in five bright colors, enhancing visibility for first responders or riding partners during emergencies, such as natural disasters, trail rides, or horse transport. The waterproof I.C.E. form allows you to permanently write your horse & owner information using a Sharpie marker. Plus, you can quickly indicate whether your horse is microchipped by circling “Yes” or “No,” helping responders avoid unnecessary scanning for a chip that might not be there.
Testing this out on a trail ride, the UltraLite ID was easy to attach & stayed securely in place throughout the journey. The bright lime color made it easy to spot, even from a distance, and the waterproof feature ensured the information remained intact despite rain & mud. However, while the lightweight design is a major plus, the form’s small writing space might be limiting for those with extensive details to include.
Pros: Lightweight, highly visible, waterproof, & easy to attach. Cons: Limited writing space & requires a Sharpie for permanent marking.
In terms of value for money, this product is a solid investment for horse owners who prioritize safety & preparedness. It’s affordable, durable, & serves a critical role in emergencies. Compared to bulkier ID options, the UltraLite stands out for its simplicity & practicality.
When it comes to build quality, the aluminum carabiner is sturdy, & the waterproof form holds up well in various weather conditions. As for customer support, the brand has a positive reputation for responsive service, though I didn’t personally need to reach out.
A more budget-friendly alternative could be a basic plastic ID tag, but those often lack the waterproof feature & visibility that the UltraLite offers.

In summary, the I.C.E. Ultralite Horse & Rider ID is a reliable, lightweight, & practical safety solution for any equestrian. It’s perfect for trail rides, horse camping, or natural disaster preparation. While the writing space could be improved, its visibility & durability make it a must-have for responsible horse owners.
